They will ask for the documents which contain your ancestry or citizenship proof like property paper, bank statements, academic records or other documents. Even a spelling mistake in these documents will raise a question on your citizenship. Before 2012, people didn't consider that maintaining documents are very necessary for some legal process, hence all maintenance of documents have been taken place after 2012. Therefore, CAB will help Hindus, Buddhists, Jains and Parsis to get citizenship easily and other religion will have to show proper proof of residing in India for past 14 years (as per the old law).
